What’s New in Hebrew 5782???

Most of our lives are directed by a Gregorian Calendar. But God has orchestrated our times and seasons by a Biblical Hebrew Calendar in the past & present too. So, let’s discover what He has to say about this new year!

Globally, most people call this new year 2022, but in the Hebrew Calendar it is the year of 5782. Hebrew is a visual language and each letter is connected to a number and a picture.

The number 5 represents grace & favor and the number 7 represents completion. The number 8  stands for new beginnings. Right now, we are in the decade of the eighties in the year 5782. In Hebrew, 80 is connected to the Hebrew letter (Pey), which is a symbolic picture of the mouth. This letter (Pey) is linked to speaking and declaring God’s word out loud. The number eighty is also connected to strength and length of days. “Our days may come to seventy years, or eighty, if our strength endures.” (Psalm 90:10).

The number 2 represents covenant blessings and agreement. In Hebrew, the number 2 is the letter (Beht). The symbolic picture connected to the number 2 in Hebrew is a house or tent. It is also connected symbolically to the family and the physical body.

This year in the Hebrew Calendar is a special year called a Shmita Year. A Shmita Year occurs every 7 years. During this time debts are canceled from debtors and farm lands rest, meaning farmers don’t plant in their fields. This special time is called a Sabbatical Year (Sabbath means rest) or The Year of The Release. A Shmita Year is also a way to address environmental issues.

It is not a coincidence that the whole earth, land and sea has been able to rest the past 2 years coming into this ordained time of rest in Hebrew culture during our global homebound status.

To understand more about The Shmita Year read Leviticus 25:1-28.

This is a brief overview of the numerical meaning of this Hebrew Calendar Year. Now let’s pray over the year!

The New Year’s Prayer

Father,

I thank You for bringing me into this new year and for the breath of life the Holy Spirit has breathed into me. I thank You for the grace & favor You have given me so that I can complete the work You have assigned to me.

You are shutting down old systems around me so that I can walk in new beginnings You have prepared for me. You are my covenant keeping God and You are keeping Your promises You have set towards me. I come into agreement with all the ways the Holy Spirit desires to move in me. You have spoken over my future goodness and hope, and have added strength and endurance to my days.

You have called me to speak to my future and activate it by wise plans so that it comes to pass. I will stake my words in Your foundations.

My heart is coming into agreement with the purposes of God for my life. I am turning towards the heart of my Father.

You are reconstructing both of my temples; my church and physical body. I will not be offended by any walls (religious systems) that You are breaking down in order to build up Your Kingdom.

My home shall be known as a house of prayer. If I have children, all of them will be taught by the Lord. I freely volunteer to help build up the Kingdom of God on earth through my time, talents and treasures.

I am redirecting my will to keep my physical body fit to run the course You have commanded me. My sphere of land is coming into rest and my mind, body, soul and spirit are aligning with the peace that you have given to me.

Thank you for teaching me to be a wise steward of my finances so my debts can be canceled. Then, I will owe no man anything, but the debt of love. In this time of shaking where darkness is covering the earth, I will flourish in dark places and shine bright like the Sun of Righteousness.

Great grace belongs to me. Completion is set in my journey. God’s rest belongs to me. His strength moves within me and His covenant blessings overshadow me.

Amen!
